EASTPOINTE, MI β An angry parent was arrested after he threatened to shoot up a metro Detroit elementary school Wednesday, according to police.
The incident happened at 3:30 p.m. at Pleasantview Elementary School in Eastpointe, according to police.
Police said 43-year-old David Scott Jr. was upset that his child didn't get "snack time" that day and confronted the teacher at dismissal time. He "started screaming, cursing and threatening" the teacher, in front of staff, students and parents, police said.

Eastpointe road patrol, a school resource officer, the detective bureau and special investigative unit responded immediately and arrested Scott within two hours after the threats, police said.

While searing his home, officers found multiple rounds of ammunition, police said.
Scott, of Eastpointe, was charged with possession of ammunition by a prohibited person (5-year felony), disorderly conduct (90-day misdemeanor), intentional threat to commit an act of violence at a school (1-year misdemeanor) and habitual offender, fourth offense.
He was placed in jail with a $150,000 bond. He was also ordered to take a mental health evaluation. If he posts bond he must wear a GPS steel-cuff tether, not leave Michigan, not consume non-prescription drugs or alcohol and have no contact with the school, employees or complaining witness.
His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 5.
"There is absolutely no excuse for threatening violence against a school or its staffβespecially over something as minor as a classroom snack," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. "Our office takes all threats to schools seriously, and we will continue to pursue charges to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and our community."
