Rock Band Sponge to Play Arts, Beats & Eats

Sponge, whose lead singer is from St. Clair Shores, will take the stage Monday in the place of Puddle of Mudd at Arts, Beats & Eats.

Ford Arts, Beats & Eats announced Puddle ofΒ MuddΒ will no longer be performingΒ at the Labor Day weekend festival due to personal issues of the lead singer Wes Scantlin. Instead, the Detroit-based rock group Sponge - led by St. Clair Shores residentΒ Vinnie Dombroski -Β will be playing some of their greatest hits, such as "PlowedΒ andΒ Molly."

Southern Rock performer Ty Stone also joins the Michigan Lottery Stage lineup.Β  His β€œAmerican Style” album, produced by Detroit music icon Kid Rock, exudes a homegrown hybrid of country rock and Detroit soul that highlights the ups and downs of the blue collar American. His hit song β€œAnywhere But Here” and others can be heard live onΒ Sunday, Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m.Β following aΒ 5 p.m. performance by Kaleido.

[TMZΒ reportsΒ 41-year-old Scantlin was arrested in JulyΒ after allegedly "going to town on his neighbor's property with the saw and a sledgehammer."Β Read more here.]
