St. Clair Shores Restaurant Getting Rooftop Food Truck

According to Metro Times, St. Clair Shores is in for a fun new roadside attraction this spring. Mike’s on the Water plans to install a food truck on its roof, a plan approved by St. Clair Shores City Council Monday in a unanimous vote. Owner Mike LeFevre is 100% committed to the plan, necessary, he says, because of wind on the existing roof deck making serving food difficult.

"It'll wow you when you drive down the road," LeFevre said at the council meeting. "You'll see a food truck on the roof. I've never seen 'em there before. I've seen 'em on streets. I've seen 'em on parking lots. I've seen 'em in parks. I've never seen 'em on the roof. I'm beyond fired up on this one."

LeFevre wants to have the truck up when Mike’s on the Water opens for the season March 20. Many diners arrive by water, so the truck should get plenty of attention on land and on Lake St. Clair.
