St. Clair Shores Wants Ideas For City's New Mural

City officials partnered with the Detroit Institute of Arts to create a new downtown city mural.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — The City of St. Clair Shores partnered with the Detroit Institute of Arts to bring a mural to downtown St. Clair Shores.

The city plans to install the new mural on 9 Mile Road and Mack Avenue area. City officials asked the community to take a survey to determine what should be on the mural. Click here to take the survey.

Director of studio programs for the Detroit Institute of Arts Charlie Garling told C&G Newspapers the program was funded by the Detroit Institute of Arts tri-county millage in cooperation with the Macomb County Art Institute Authority.

"The purpose of the program is to help people explore and express their sense of community through a collaborative public art mural that helps to convey the unique interests and stories of each community," Garling he said.
