Three Arrested In Clinton Township Man's Death
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office believes this is a case of a robbery that went very bad.

MT. CLEMENS, MI — A man who was shot in the head in Mt. Clemens has died, according to a press release. The victim, Clinton Township man James Capizzo, died on Dec. 28 at the age of 44 in what the Macomb County Sheriff's Office believes was a robbery gone very bad.
The shooting that claimed Capizzo's life happened on Dec. 26 at approximately 1:28 a.m. Deputies received a report that a man had been shot in front of a home at 195 S. Main St. in Mt. Clemens. The suspect, who was described as a black man, reportedly fled the scene.
Arriving deputies found Capizzo with at least one gunshot wound to the head lying on his back in the snow, at the foot of a staircase in front of the home. Capizzo was transported to McLaren-Macomb Hospital, where he passed away two days later.

While at the crime scene, Deputies found two spent .22 long-rifle shell casings and called in a Sheriff’s K-9, who led deputies to a house on Gratiot.
After speaking with the homeowner of the residence where the shooting took place and other witnesses, deputies developed a shooting suspect: A 27-year-old Mt. Clemens man. Deputies say that evidence and witness accounts leads them to believe this was a case of a robbery gone bad.

Three people have been arrested in connection to Capizzo's death. The suspected shooter - a 27-year-old Mt. Clemens man, a 27-year-old Clinton Township man, and the suspected shooter's fiance, a 25-year-old Mt. Clemens woman. She was arrested as she carried a rifle out of a home under surveillance by Deputies. Deputies believe that the rifle was used in the deadly shooting, and that the fiancé was in the midst of discarding the evidence.
