Train Derails In Warren, Losing Roughly 20 Cars Off Tracks: Police

A train derailed Thursday morning in Warren, losing roughly 20 cars​ along tracks on Schoenherr​ Road, police said.

WARREN, MI — A train derailed Thursday morning in Warren, losing roughly 20 cars along tracks on Schoenherr Road, Warren Police said.

Warren Police said the cars came off the tracks around 7:40 a.m. in the area of Schoenherr and Stephens roads. The train was pulling 150 cars in total.

It's unclear what damage was done or what the trains were pulling, but Michigan State Police said there's no danger to the community. There were no injuries were reported by officials.

Schoenherr Road east of 10 Mile Road in the area of Stephens east of Hoover was closed for cleanup. It remains unclear when the road will open back up, police said.
