5 Most Interesting Items at Feathers Nest Furnishings in Trenton
Feathers Nest Furnishings is located at 1623 West Road in Trenton.
Perhaps the most interesting item at Feathers Nest Furnishings in Trenton is owner Debbe Linn-Bunch.
Linn-Bunch, of Grosse Ile, lived in California for several years until returning to the area in which she grew up. She's a graduate of Trenton High School.
Unwilling to give up her true age, Linn-Bunch said she graduated from Trenton High School in the 1970s.
"I'm 50-ish,"Â Linn-Bunch said. "I like that word, '-ish,'"
Linn-Bunch said her love for antique furniture and home decor began years ago when she ran an antiques booth.
She brought her knowledge of antiques and keen sense of style with her when she began filling Feathers Nest Furnishings with interesting pieces. The store, located at 1623 West Road, opened in May.
Most of the items Linn-Bunch has in her store would fall into the category of antique and repurposed pieces of furniture and home decor. She brings items in on consignment and purchases gently used pieces to sell in her store.
"I love the farmhouse feel, chippy, peely paint kind of stuff," Linn-Bunch said.
Jan Howard, 81, of Trenton, provides items for Linn-Bunch to sell on consignment. She's also one of Linn-Bunch's best customers.
"I shop at Feathers Nest in the hope of finding something older than I am," Howard said. "At 81 it isn't easy, but I keep on looking."
