Grosse Ile Resident: 'My Husband Finished the Boston Marathon Unharmed'

Vicki Wilson of Grosse Ile said she and her three children are eager to hug her husband, David Wilson, who participated in the Boston Marathon where two explosions killed three people and injured dozens.

Vicki Wilson of Grosse Ile said her husband was not harmed after two explosions rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon Monday.

Her husband, David Wilson, finished the Boston Marathon about an hour and a half before the explosions.

He was about to hop on a flight back to Detroit Metro Airport to be reunited with his family Tuesday afternoon.

"We are anxious to get him back home," Vicki Wilson said.

David Wilson stayed at a Westin Hotel just a few blocks from the finish line.

"He could hear ambulances and emergency personnel from his hotel room," Vicki Wilson said.

Vicki Wilson, principal at Monroe Elementary School in Wyandotte, said the first thing she is going to do when she sees her husband is give him a hug.

"We have three small children and they miss him terribly, although they have no idea what happened.," Vicki Wilson said.
