Man, Woman Approaching Children Spotted Again in Trenton

Two 10-year-old boys reported spotting a man and a woman in a silver pickup truck in front of one boy's house at about 6 p.m. May 11 in the 2300 block of Vernon Street.

The boys told police they were playing basketball in the driveway in the backyard when the driver of a silver pickup truck, traveling at a high rate of speed, slammed on the brakes as the truck approached the boy's house.

The boys ran toward the front of the house to investigate and found a man and a woman in a pickup truck parked in front of the house.

The boys said a white female, about 19 years old with longer blonde hair, reached over from the passenger seat and began pounding on the closed driver's side window, according to a Trenton police report.

The driver of the truck, described as a white male about 22 years old with short, dark and spiked hair and a dragon tattoo on his left upper-arm, then motioned with his hand to encourage the boys to come towards the truck, according to the report.

Police said the boys turned around and ran back into the backyard and alerted one boy's father.

The boy's father, 38, went out in the front yard and noticed the pickup truck speeding away.

A neighbor told police she also saw a silver pickup truck occupied by two individuals parked in front of her house. She said she attempted to make contact with the driver, but the driver sped away before she could make contact or get the license plate on the truck.

This is the third report in a little over a month of a male and female in a silver pickup truck approaching young children in Trenton.

Deputy Chief Steve Voss said there is a likelihood that the incidents are related.

Police received reports involving a man driving a silver pickup truck with a female passenger approaching young girls on April 24 near Charlton and Lenox and April 27 in Elizabeth Park.

"The Trenton Police Department is still actively pursuing all suspects in this investigation," Voss said. "We do not have a suspect in custody at this time.
