Metro Detroit Man Arrested After Threatening 'No Kings' Protesters: Police

The man could face several charges in connection with the threats, according to police.

TRENTON, MI — A metro Detroit man was arrested earlier this week after threatening protesters at a "No Kings" event in downtown Monroe, according to police.

Event organizers told officers they had received threatening messages of violence at their planned event in downtown Monroe last Saturday, according to police.

Officers identified the messages and traced them to a 58-year-old Trenton man, according to police.

Police said investigators talked to the man, who admitted to posting the messages. He also told investigators he has been dealing with anger issues, which led him to making the statements.

He was placed in jail and could face charges of harassment, intimidation and stalking in connection with the incident, according to police.
