Trenton Resident Wises Up, Avoids Craigslist Scam
The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 57-year-old Trenton man avoided a costly scam on Craigslist.org by reporting the incident to police at about 10:30 a.m. June 18 in the 3300 block of Charles Street.
The man said he was searching Craigslist for employment when he was notified by a person claiming to be doctor, who wanted the man to receive packages for him through the mail.
The man told police he became suspicious of what "Dr. Walter" was asking him to do, according to a Trenton police report. The man told the doctor he didn't want anything to do with his business and if he sent any packages he would take them to the authorities, which is exactly what he did.
The man received a package in the mail containing a check in the amount of $1,950. He brought the check to the Trenton Police Department and reported the potential fraud.
Trenton police determined the checks were fraudulent.
