On July 14, prosecutors said Day messaged an undercover profile identifying as a 15-year-old girl on Reddit. He sent her explicit photos of himself and spoke about explicit activities, prosecutors said.
Last Monday, Day planned to meet the 15-year-old for sex, but was arrested when he arrived at the meeting site, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors did not say exactly where officers arrested Day.
"Our children deserve to grow up safe, free from the threat of predators. My office will use every tool under the law to protect them and hold offenders fully accountable," said Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said.
