Would-Be Car Stereo Thief Leaves Trail of Blood

A 59-year-old man reported someone attempted to steal his car stereo and left behind specks of blood at about 4 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 4500 block of Turner.
The man said he parked his 2010 Chrysler 300 in front of his apartment complex at about 7 p.m. the night before and when he went out to the vehicle the next day he noticed someone busted out the rear passenger window and tried to steal his car stereo.
Poice said someone pulled out the outer trim that goes around the radio, but was unable to get the radio out.

Police found specks of blood on the rear seat of the car. An officer retrieved two DNA swabs of the dried blood and tagged it into evidence.
The estimated cost to repair the car is about $2,000.
