As everyone readies themselves for the summer lawn maintenance routine, Troy residents and business owners are asked to heed the Troy ordinance that limits the use of outdoor automatic underground sprinkler systems to between the hours of 11 pm and 5 am daily. Doing so will help to keep water costs lower.
“This is vitally important as we approach the weekend with estimated temperatures nearing the 90’s,” Superintendant of Water & Sewer Rick Shepler said. “We have to lower our usage especially during the peak hours of 5 am and 8 am in order to reduce our water rates”
For more information about the Outdoor Underground Sprinkler Restrictions, visit the City’s Web site at www.troymi.gov. To see if your sprinkler system is affected by these restrictions, call 248-524-3370 or e-mail WaterDepartment@troymi.gov.
