An internationally recognized speaker from the Detroit area has been named President of the Troy Rotary Club of Michigan for 2012-2013. Michael Angelo Caruso will be honored at a special President’s Dinner on Wednesday, June 20.
Caruso, a Royal Oak resident, will receive the honor at a special dinner to be held at St. Nicholas Cultural Center in Troy.

“I’m honored to give back to the organization that has given me so much,” says Caruso. “Joining Rotary is the best decision I ever made.”
Mr. Caruso is a 17-year member of Rotary and has helped raise over $150,000 through his seminar fundraiser program.

The Troy Rotary club is the fastest growing club in District 6380, which includes 52 clubs in the area, including clubs in Windsor, Ontario. There are 44 members in Troy Rotary.
Fellow Troy Rotarians couldn't be happier for Caruso.
"Michael is a great guy who brings a lot to our club,” says Michael O’Shaughnessey, Membership Chair for Troy Rotary and the person planning the June 20 dinner.
"As a professional speaker, he’ll be a fabulous President as he hosts our Wednesday luncheons and special events.”
The special dinner
The President’s Dinner on June 20 is open to the public. Many highlights are planned for the evening. Food will be catered by the legendary Opus One restaurant. The IT consultancy firm, SourcePath has donated an iPad3 that will be raffled off. Attendees will take turns at the microphone toasting/roasting Mr. Caruso
Asked about the toast/roast portion of the evening, Michael says, “I am both flattered and frightened.”
The St. Nicholas Cultural Center is located at 760 West Wattles Rd. between Crooks and I-75. The evening begins with a reception at 6:30 pm.

The Troy Club meets for lunch every Wednesday from Noon until 1:30 pm at the Bank of America Building at 2600 W. Big Beaver Rd. next to Somerset North in Troy. The Club has a reputation for networking, doing good things in the community, and is growing membership at a fast pace.
