Fundraising began as early as grade school. “I began fund raising with a tin can,” Fisher said. “Every fifty dollars feeds and educates a child in Africa for an entire year through JAM's programs. I made it a goal to fill up the tin can until I raised fifty dollars.”

But Fisher has more than just music in mind.
“I want to grow Bands that JAM for Africa from an event to event schedule to a full time, international organization,” she said. “I hope to reach as many young people as possible to raise awareness about the plight in Africa and ensure them that they can accomplish their goals and dreams if they work hard.”
The benefit concert will be Saturday, June 16 at 7 p.m. (doors at 6:30 p.m.) at The District (4005 S. Baldwin, Lake Orion). Tickets are $12 at the door.
