Ryan Broyles Hosts Halloween Hangout and Costume Contest

  • When: Monday, Oct. 28, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Where: AirTime Trampoline & Game Park (662 E. Big Beaver Rd., Troy)
  • What: The event is for the first 100 kids who register, up to age 16. Broyles’ Halloween bash will also feature a costume contest, with prizes awarded to his event’s best-dressed guests. A silent auction and raffles will be available to guests and all proceeds will benefit the Ryan Broyles Foundation. Registration for the event costs $25 and includes pizza provided by Happy’s Pizza and two hours of jump time. Parents must register their children by calling AirTime (248-918-0909) or registering online at airtimetrampoline.com. The event is open to the first 100 kids who RSVP and parents must stay with their children for the duration of the event.

UFOs Over Michigan

  • When: Monday, Oct. 28, 7 p.m.
  • Where: Troy Public Library (510 W. Big Beaver Rd., Troy)
  • What: Did you know that Michigan has some of the biggest UFO cases on record? The 1966 sightings over Southeast Michigan and 1994 sightings over Grand Rapids each had literally hundreds of eye-witnesses. Learn about these incredible events as well as other well-documented UFO sightings from the Great Lakes State. William Konkolesky is the State Director of the Michigan Chapter of the Mutual UFO Network and regularly lectures on the UFO phenomenon.  He has appeared in or contributed to UFO documentaries for the History Channel, Discovery Channel, ABC, and more.  His writing has been published in numerous books, magazines, and websites. These programs have been made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Troy Public Library. Register online at troylibrary.info  or call the Technology Center at (248) 524-3542 to reserve your seat for this powerful program.

5 Action Strategies for Taking Your Life to the Next Level

  • When: Tuesday, Oct. 29, 8 a.m.
  • Where: Troy Chamber of Commerce office - lower level auditorium (2125 Butterfield, Troy)
  • What: Internationally-known speaker and trainer Michael Jeffreys, who has delivered more than 2,000 seminars over the past 25 years, speaks on success. You'll learn how to understand and leverage the power of your mind, develop more clarity and a larger vision for your life, set goals and achieve them faster, and discover mind tools to catapult you to success. Annual Fall Harvest Festival

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 31, 6-9 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Christian Church (3668 Livernois Rd., Troy)
  • What: The festival provides a free trick-or-treating alternative to families and includes a costume contest, face painting, carnival games, candy, hayrides, prize drawings, food and a photo booth.  Admission is free, but some activities require tickets, which can be purchased onsite. Costume contests will be held for all ages and everyone is invited to wear family-friendly costumes. Due to the presence of young children, event organizers ask that attendees avoid scary and gory costumes.

Thursday Teas at Two

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 31, 2 p.m.
  • Where: Troy Historic Village (60 W. Wattles Rd.)
  • What: Join Glen and Judi Morningstar for an exploration of the life and music of the itinerant, blind Irish harpist, Turlough O’Carolan. Hear them play the tunes themselves! Sip a cup of tea while enjoying a slice of history. Program takes place in Old Troy Church at the Troy Historic Village. Guests are welcome to bring their own teacup or use our disposable products. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased over the phone or at the Village. Tea season passes are available for $20. Space is limited, advance registration is required. No refunds or exchanges.
