Detroit Man Stalks Troy Woman

A Detroit man was recently arrested for stalking a Troy woman at her home.

TROY, MI — A 24-year-old Detroit man was arrested and charged with Burglary – Entering Without Permission and Stalking after he was discovered in a home of the 100 block of Arthur Street in Troy on June 3. Police reports said the homeowner awoke around 8:30 p.m. and found the Detroit man in his home.

The 24-year-old told the homeowner he a friend of his step-daughter’s. Officers arrived minutes later and the step-daughter was contacted. She told officers that she didn’t invite the Detroit man to her home and added that he had been attempting to have a relationship with her.

Police reports said she had declined his advances and asked that he stop trying to contact her. Officers then arrested the man without incident.

A 27-year-old Pontiac woman was issued a misdemeanor citation for Retail Fraud – 2nd Degree after attempting to steals about $300 worth of items from Nordstrom’s on W. Big Beaver Road. on June 2. A loss prevention worker stopped the woman from leaving the store and officers were called to the scene at about 2:25 p.m. Reports didn’t specify what item(s) she tried to steal.

Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated

A 39-year-old woman from Bloomfield Hills was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol after being stopped by Troy officers northbound I-75 south of Wattles Road on June 2. Officers initiated a traffic stop at 12:07 a.m. on her black 2015 Cadillac SRX that they said was being driven erratically.

The officer spoke with the driver and noted an odor of alcohol. She told police she had consumed two alcoholic drinks and was returning home from an event downtown. She submitted to a Preliminary Breath Test and allegedly registered .131 percent reading, which is .051 above the legal state limit.
