Drunken Driving, Retail Fraud and More Reported to Troy Police
The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

Credit, check, identity theft, other fraud
6000 block of Silverstone, Aug. 19-22, 12 noon: Complainant reported someone attempted to change his address with the post office.
Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs
Interstate-75 and West Big Beaver Road, Aug. 28, 3:01 a.m.: Troy Officers were dispatched on a possible drunk driver swerving all over the freeway. The driver had slurred speech and an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The driver failed field sobrieties and was found to have multiple warrants for his arrest. The driver, a 20-year-old from Detroit was arrested for operating while intoxicated and misdemeanor warrants. A blood draw was conducted with results pending. The passenger of the vehicle was also a 20-year-old from Detroit and was intoxicated.Β He was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol (consumption).
Malicious destruction of property
300 block of E. Big Beaver Rd., Aug. 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Complainant stated when her vehicle was parked in the lot someone βkeyedβ the driverβs side door.

Retail fraud
Kroger, 1237 Coolidge Hwy., Aug. 27, 1:55 p.m.: Employees advised the suspect was observed select 35 Kroger gift cards and put them in his pants. The suspect left the store without paying for the cards. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the cards valued at $105. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.Β
Wal-Mart, 2001 W. Maple Rd., Aug. 27, 2:51 p.m.: Loss prevention officers advised the suspect was observed selecting a childβs car seat in a box. The suspect removed the car seat and placed it on a shelf. The suspect then filled the car seat box with merchandise. The suspect then went to register and paid for the βcar seat.β When the suspect exited the store loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered $675.99 worth of merchandise concealed in the box. The suspect, a 56-year-old from Detroit was arrested for retail fraud.
