Granite City Brewery Offers Sneak Peek Before May 8 Grand Opening in Troy
The family-friendly upscale casual restaurant is scheduled to open to the public on Tuesday.
To celebrate the upcoming May 8 grand opening of the newly constructed , the held a sneak peek Friday evening for VIP guests and media, complete with a golden keg hand-delivered to the restaurant in the back of a 1948 DeSoto.
The well-attended preview included menu samples, brewery tours and, of course, beer made on the premises.
"It's just a great addition to the city," Troy City Councilman Dane Slater said. "It's a welcome sight for an area needing this enhancement."

Guests enjoyed samples of the restaurant's signature flat bread pizza, appetizers and microbrews Duke of Wellington and Broad Axe Stout.
"I'm excited for a new, fresh restaurant," West Bloomfield resident Sara Bernstein said. "The flat breads are delicious."

"I met the owner at a different restaurant, and he said, 'Come to my restaurant,'" Bloomfield Hills resident Judy Bernstein said. "So we came, and it's every bit as good as he said it would be."
The 9,800-square-foot restaurant features seating for approximately 300, a newly designed interior showcasing a wrap-around bar, an atrium, an open kitchen and a central wood-fired pizza oven.
