Joseph Duda Named Principal of Larson Middle School

Duda has worked in the district for more than a decade and served as assistant principal of Athens High School for the past five years.

The Troy Board of Education Tuesday night appointed Joseph Duda as Principal of .

Duda came to Troy in June of 1999 as a science teacher at . In December of 2006, he moved into the role of Assistant Principal.

During his 13 years at Athens High School, he has co-chaired a school improvement team and been a member of the NCA school improvement committee and the Teacher Evaluation Committee (TEAM). He is a participant, as well as a contributor, in the T.A.L.L. program, and he is the administrative liaison for both secondary mathematics and science.

Duda received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Central Michigan University in 1998, a Master of Education degree in Science Curriculum from Wayne State University in 2002, and an Education Specialist degree in School Administration from Oakland University in 2004.

Duda will begin his duties as Principal, Larson Middle School effective July 1, 2012. He replaces Mr. Dennis Seppanen, who retires after 43 years with the .
