Letter to the Editor: 'I Support the Recall of Mayor Janice Daniels'
"For too long, we've been victim of political shenanigans by those seeking to forward an extreme ideology," Troy resident Sue Martin writes.

Dear Editor:
In recent months, the citizenry of Troy has been gradually more engaged in sincere dialogue regarding our city.Β For too long, weβve been victim of political shenanigans by those seeking to forward an extreme ideology.Β
The recall effort mounted against Troy Mayor Janice Daniels was borne out of a frustration with that, and the overwhelming majority of informed Troy residents are ready to restore a healthy balance back to our city.Β

And let us be clear: a RECALL is our right under the state constitution.Β It gives the voters the chance to further participate in our local political process by choosing to remove or retain this mayor based on tangible evidence of her performance β not just the empty promises of a political campaign.Β It allows all of us residents the opportunity to make our voices heard now that we have a more clear vision of Danielsβ true intentions and behavior.Β
Recalls do not require proof of misconduct; rather, they are the legitimate tool of the electorate to express dissatisfaction with incompetency, ineptitude and overbearing partisanship. I support the recall of Mayor Janice Daniels.Β
