Troy Youth Recognized for Outstanding Service to Community

recently recognized 48 local young people at the 40th Annual Youth Recognition Awards Program sponsored by The Rotary Club of Troy. 

Troy Youth Assistance is committed to strengthening Troy youth and families by preventing and reducing juvenile delinquency, child neglect, and child abuse through casework services and community involvement.

The school-age youth who reside in Troy were nominated by local school, religious and community organizations for exemplary contributions to the Troy community.  Categories included: exceptional service to others, achievement by an individual who has overcome personal challenges and/or set an example for others, heroism or an outstanding humanitarian act and exceptional service within a club/organization.

Rising Star Award

The following students received the Rising Star Award:

• Peer Mediation: Jannah Mandwee and Rawan Mandwee.
• Camp Counselors: Meghan Bugaj, Rachael Burland, Lauren Dietz, Rana Elias, Andrew Farran, Laney Hart, Mark House, Baraka Nassari, Lindsay Podsiadlik, Anna Young.
• Ecology Club: Monica Alluri, Soumeeka Koneru, Ruchi Mangal, Rahee Patel.

Silver Star Award

 The following students received the Silver Star Award:

• Adaptive Basketball Program: Hannah Hailo, Rebekah Hailo, Sarah Hailo.
• Peer Mediation: Jarrett Bochniak, Peaton Brown, David Eicher, Patrick Gao, David Jordan, Andrew Kenny, Rohan Tangri.
• Student Congress: Kate Dickerson, Rasika Karnik, Lisa Lavelanet, T.J. Morton, Kara Perry, J.D. Sterba.
• French Tutor: Sophia Ruixin Li
• Mediation & Group Leadership: Sirisha Billa.

Gold Star Award

The following students received the Gold Star Award:

Troy High School Peer Mediation: Tyler Horne, Kelsey Kavulich, Nick Kondoleon, Chris Michael, Katlyn Moss, Marisa Oleski, Matt Oppenlander, Jennifer Thompson, Irene Young.

Platinum Star Award

The following received the Platinum Star Award:
