Meritor Raises $16,500 For Breast Cancer Research
More than 120 employees participated in the flash mob fund-raiser for Meritor to raise funds for Breast Cancer research.
From Meritor Inc.: More than 120 employees at Meritor, Inc.’s Troy headquarters exercised to high-energy, upbeat music during the company’s second-annual exercise flash mob fundraiser, raising $16,560 for the Susan G. Komen Detroit Race for the Cure. Dressed in pink Meritor T-shirts, the employees participated in 20 minutes of low-impact exercise led by Orangetheory Fitness. The action-packed event reinforced an ongoing commitment by Meritor and its employees to do their part for breast cancer research and treatment.
“Our goal is to demonstrate that Meritor and its employees are committed to making a difference in meaningful ways,” said Krista Sohm, vice president, Marketing & Communications for Meritor. “Thanks to the Susan G. Komen organization, progress is being made to save lives.”
Meritor flash mobs and other events in 2016 and 2017 have raised more than $34,500 for the Susan G. Komen Detroit Race for the Cure. Since 2015, the Meritor Trust Fund and employee contributions have raised more than $2 million for over 200 charities. Sponsors of Meritor’s exercise flash mob included Orangetheory, Chamberlain Marketing, Creative Solutions Group, A. Key Productions, Mercury Sound & Lighting, MCCI, LK Photographics, Bluewater and Strategic Communications Group.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer. Since 1992, Detroit’s race has raised more than $29 million in the fight against breast cancer.
