More Snow Wednesday Night In Troy, New Year's Forecast: NWS

New Year's Eve looks sunny and dry before rain moves in Friday night, and transitioning to a wintry mix leading into New Year's Day.

TROY, MI — After one to two inches of snow fell in Troy Tuesday night, Wednesday morning started with a dense fog, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a special statement.

Visibility is well less than a mile and near zero across much of the region, the National Weather Service said. People are encouraged to use caution while driving by slowing down and putting plenty of distance between vehicles.

Wednesday night will also bring another chance of fresh snow, but it is expected to be quick and not accumulate much, according to the National Weather Service.

After a foggy start to Wednesday, clouds will move in and temperatures will reach the low 40s. Then a chance of snow showers around midnight before drying out Thursday morning, which will start cloudy with temperatures in the low 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

However, Thursday is expected to remain dry with temperatures reaching the upper 30s by the afternoon. New Year's Eve will be dry and sunny with highs reaching the upper 40s, before rain moves in Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain showers will then transition into a wintry mix leading into New Year's Day with highs in the 40s. The rain and snow mix will then shift back to snow Saturday night.
