PHOTOS: Morse Elementary Students 'Stand 4 Change' to Combat Bullying
Schools across the Troy School District participated Friday in the nationwide "Stand 4 Change" event, which encourages students to stand up against bullying.
At precisely 1:15 p.m. Friday, 's 458 students stopped what they were doing in their classrooms and literally stood up against bullying.
The symbolic event was part of the nationwide choreographed "Stand 4 Change" event, which included more than 1.3 million students from more than 2,100 schools nationwide, including all schools.
"We've been doing bullying-prevention assemblies all year," Morse Elementary Principal Stephanie Acord said. "For kids to see this national movement, the kids are like, 'wow, this is a big deal.'"

Jaxen Klein, a fourth-grade student in Jennifer Reis' class, said standing up against bullying is important "so people don't push or be mean."
"It's important not to bully because you can hurt people's feelings," said Devin Creek, also a student of Ries'.
