Oakland County Man Facing Child Porn Charges

A Troy man is facing multiple felonies after police caught him in possession of child pornography​, according to police.

TROY, MI — A Troy man is facing multiple felonies after police caught him in possession of child pornography, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.

Kyle Robert Breitinger, 37, was charged with six counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, which is a 10-year felony.

He was placed in the Oakland County Jail with a bond set at $50,000. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 8.

Prosecutors said Breitinger owns a phone number that investigators found has files containing numerous explicit and graphic photos and videos of underage children.

Michigan State Police received the tip about Breitinger from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, according to the sheriff's office.

"Any allegations involving the sexual exploitation of children are deeply troubling," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. "My office takes these charges extremely seriously because we recognize the trauma and widespread ramifications associated with such charges. We will work hard to secure justice for the victims in this case and to protect other kids from similar offenses."
