Oakland Mall Fire Limited To Sears Roof
Troy firefighters were able to contain the recent blaze to the roof of a Sears store.
TROY - An early morning fire Friday at the Oakland Mall’s Sears store caused damage to the roof. While the amount of damage isn’t clear, the quick actions of a motorist to call in the blaze at 4:30 a.m. likely helped limit it. Troy firefighters responded to the scene and confined the fire to the roof.
One firefighter was treated for exhaustion at the scene. He has since returned to duty, according to a statement from Chuck Riesterer, assistant fire chief.
