Overnight Rollover Crash Shuts Down I-75 in Troy

One driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, according to Troy Police.

A man was seriously injured in a rollover crash that shut down northbound Interstate 75 near Crooks Road just before midnight Tuesday, according to a press release from the The freeway reopened three hours later.

A crash investigation revealed that a Nissan Pickup truck had been speeding north on the freeway when the driver lost control as he attempted to pass a Ford Expedition, according to police.

The Nissan hit the right front corner of the Ford, then hit the guardrail and rolled over. The driver of the Nissan, who was the lone occupant, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained substantial injuries, according to police. He was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
