Defense attorney questions if operator was trained to use grounding straps before hyperbaric blast (detroitnews.com) — Troy residents are following a closely watched court case over a fatal hyperbaric chamber explosion at the Oxford Center in Troy that killed a 5-year-old boy. In a recent hearing, a defense attorney questioned whether the chamber operator was ever properly trained to use grounding straps, while a Troy police detective and fire officials described safety protocols and how a static spark likely ignited the fire.
   

2. 2 Snowplow Trucks Stolen From Troy Parking Lot: Police (patch.com) — Two snowplow-equipped pickup trucks were stolen overnight from a business lot on John R Road in Troy after being left unlocked with keys inside, police said. One of the vehicles, a Ford F-250, was later recovered in Detroit, while the other remains missing as the investigation continues.

Michigan Woman Found Asleep at the Wheel With Bottle Beside Her (wcrz.com) — Troy Police recently responded to John R. and Maple, where they found a Rochester Hills woman allegedly asleep in an SUV blocking traffic and later arrested her on a third-offense drunk driving charge. Officers reported extremely high blood-alcohol readings, and she was taken to the Troy lock-up for further testing and processing.

What's Going Around in Metro Detroit: Influenza, RSV, COVID, slip and fall injuries, cough, fever (clickondetroit.com) — Doctors at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital report that local children are mostly coming in with cough, fever, and stomach bugs, while adults are seeing more influenza A and winter-related injuries. Across Metro Detroit, physicians are warning about rising flu, COVID, RSV, and slip-and-fall accidents, urging residents to get vaccinated, practice good hygiene, and use extra caution on ice and snow.
