Experience 'World of Flavors' Sunday at PNC Bank Taste of Troy

The annual event, which features food from more than two dozen local restaurants, raises money for the Boys and Girls Club of Troy.

Where can you find the best food in the world? Right here in Troy, of course!

This Sunday, grab a fork and head down to the from 1-4 p.m. at the , where 27 Troy restaurants will be serving up their very best dishes while keeping in mind this year's theme: "A World of Flavors."

"It is the premier fundraiser in all of Troy," said Cindy Stewart, event organizer and director of Community Affairs for the City of Troy. "It's the biggest fundraiser for the ."

“Thanks to the San Marino Club, attendees will enjoy food from around the world right here in Troy,” said Steve Toth, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Troy. "If you crave it, our favorite local restaurants will serve it."

Now in its 20th year, Taste of Troy drew in a crowd of more than 1,000 people last year; this year, organizers hope to see an even bigger crowd. Proceeds from the event will help the Boys & Girls Club provide a safe place for 1,200 young people to interact, learn, grow and develop into contributing members of this community.

In addition to mouth-watering food sampling, attendees can bid on gift baskets, spa packages, hotel and restaurant gift certificates and more in the silent auction. There is also live music as well as a chance to be a part of the live auction with WDIV TV 4 Meteorologist Andrew Humphrey. 

Participating restaurants compete for awards, including Critics’ Choice (full disclosure: Troy Patch Local Editor is an official food critic this year!) and People’s Choice.  

Food connoisseurs will enjoy the fare from premier restaurant and food establishments in Troy, including:

"What could be more fun," Toth asked, "than savoring delicious cuisine from around the world, enjoying great entertainment from Big Will and the 360 Degrees Band, a live and silent auction with spectacular items, while raising money for a great cause – the Boys & Girls Club?”

Advance tickets sell for $40 and can be ordered by calling the Boys & Girls Club of Troy at 248-689-1687. Tickets purchased at the event are $50.
