Apron containing $342 in tips reported stolen

A server at reported that someone had stolen his apron, which contained $342 in tips, at the end of his Tuesday evening shift.

According to a media release from Troy Police, the man had set his apron down in the kitchen to finish cleaning up just after midnight. When he returned to the kitchen, the apron and cash were gone.

Man stopped for speeding, arrested on charges of drug possession

Troy Police pulled over a vehicle for speeding and expired plates near Dequindre Road and South Boulevard Tuesday just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. After an investigation, the 19-year-old Shelby Township man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance – Vicodin, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia, according to a media release from the department.

Shoes reported stolen, returned to store for cash

A woman shopping at on April 25 reported trying on clothing, then accidentally leaving behind a bag containing new shoes she had just purchased. When the woman returned to the fitting room, the bag was missing.

According to a media release from Troy Police, Macy's informed the woman the next day that someone had returned the shoes and credited the price of the shoes to their own credit card account.

Car vandalized at Troy High School

A student at reported Monday that someone had flattened the tires on his Chrysler PT Cruiser and dented the car.

Police determined the tires were punctured with a sharp-edged instrument, and the numerous dents appear to have been made with a baseball bat, according to a media release from the department.
