Police Blotter: K2 Smoking Driver, School Vandalism, Musical Instruments Theft and More

Teen admits to smoking K2 synthetic marijuana before driving
A Troy Police officer observed a vehicle swerve and then hit the curb near Rochester and Big Beaver roads at 1:40 a.m. Monday. The vehicle then swerved onto the apron for a side street, then back onto Rochester Road, according to a Troy Police report.
The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who was very lethargic and confused, according to the report. He was slurring his speech and had bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils.

The 19-year-old Troy man failed sobriety tests and eventually told police he had smoked K2/Spice, or artificial marijuana, according to the police report. Police also found marijuana residue on the teen's driver's side door.
He was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs. Results of a blood test were still pending.

Musical instruments stolen from home, found at neighbor's
Troy officers responded to a burglary alarm on the 6000 block of Elarz on Β Friday morning. They discovered the back door to the home wide open, though nobody was found inside.
When the homeowner returned, she determined that a cello, guitar, flute, clarinet, iPad, tools and other miscellaneous small electronics were missing, according to a police report.
Officers then checked neighboring homes and discovered one where the back door was open. When nobody answered knocks on the door, officers entered the home with the homeowner's permission and discovered all of the stolen items as well as two sleeping men.
According to the police report, one of the men lives in the home. The two Troy men, ages 20 and 21, were arrested and charged with home invasion and receiving and concealing stolen property.
Cash missing after stranger enters home
A homeowner on the 500 block of Trinway reported Saturday afternoon that an unknown man had entered her home without permission while she was watching television. The man told the homeowner he wanted to show his wife how beautiful the house was, according to a Troy police report. It is not known how long the man was in the home before the homeowner noticed him.
The man then left the home through the front door, returning with a woman he said was his wife. Neither the man nor the woman were given permission to enter the home, according to the report. After they left, the homeowner's son came home and reported a large amount of cash missing from a briefcase in a bedroom closet.
The man is described as approximately 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds and clean shaven with short curly brown hair. He was wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. The woman is described as roughly 25 years old and 5 feet 5 inches tall with long brown hair and blonde streaks. She appeared to be about five months pregnant and was wearing a green dress.

Vandals spray paint Larson Middle School
Silver, red and yellow spray paint were used to leave graffiti on the west wall of some time Friday evening or early Saturday morning. There were no suspects.
