Police Do Welfare Check On Driver With Hazard Lights On And Find Cocaine
The woman had been driving with her hazard lights and recently pulled over when officers stopped to check on her.

TROY, MI — A driver welfare check turned into a cocaine bust, according to police reports.
On Dec. 3 at 4:29 a.m., Troy police observed a silver 1998 Ford Escort driving with its hazard lights on E. Big Beaver Rd. The vehicle had just pulled off the roadway, and officers stopped to do a welfare check on the driver.
The driver, a 21-year-old woman from Pontiac, told officers she had stopped to close her gas tank door after just having purchased gas. She could not provide a State of Michigan Operator’s License and gave officers a fake name but officers were able to determine her true identity, which in turn revealed her driving privileges were currently suspended.
