2 From Troy Among Victims In Fatal I-75 Wrong-Way Crash In Royal Oak: Police
Police said the crash happened early Sunday morning on Interstate 75 near 11 Mile Road In Royal Oak.
ROYAL OAK, MI β Two people from Troy are among five people who were killed and injured in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 in Royal Oak over the weekend, according to Michigan State Police.
Police said a black Volkswagen was moving north in the southbound lanes on the freeway near 11 Mile Road in Royal Oak at 2:50 a.m. Sunday morning when it crashed into a Dodge Caravan.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 29-year-old man from Oak Park, and three people inside the Dodge Caravan, including a 34-year-old man from Troy, a 54-year-old man from Mexico and a 71-year-old man from Mexico, were killed in the crash, according to police.

The fourth person inside the Dodge was a 31-year-old woman from Troy, according to police.
She is still in the hospital where she is expected to survive, according to police.

Police said investigators have completed their initial examination and were still waiting for toxicology and other reports.
Investigators were still trying to determine where the wrong-way driver enter the freeway and how long he was driving in the opposite direction before the crash.
