Troy Man Tells Police He's Being Harassed, Defrauded
An unknown suspect asked police to deliver a false statement regarding a death in the man's family.

Suspicious Incidents
Troy Police responded to a strange incident on March 12 involving mail fraud and possible harassment of a resident at Sutton Place.Β
Police received a phone call from a man requesting that the department deliver a message regarding a family death to the home of his brother, because the phone number he had was incorrect. An officer dispatched to the home spoke with the homeowner, who said that he doesn't have a brother with the name provided by the caller.

The homeowner also said that he was recently the victim of mail fraud, having been contacted and told that he won a lottery. The homeowner subsequently sent money to several locations outside the US in attempt to claim his prize money. Recently, the homeowner had to change his home phone number due to constant phone calls from the suspect in that case.
