Retail Fraud and More Reported to Troy Police
The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs
Interstate-75 and West Big Beaver, July 26, 5:24 p.m.: Troy Officers were dispatched to a vehicle parked on the shoulder with the driver asleep at the wheel. Officers located the vehicle and woke the driver identified as a 24-year-old Auburn Hills resident. The driver was confused and smelled strongly of alcohol. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. A blood draw was conducted with results pending.
Interstate-75 and Rochester Road, July 26, 9:46 p.m.: Troy Officers were dispatched to a possible drunk driver. Witnesses stated the vehicle was "swerving and speeding up and slowing while also leaving its lane." Officers located the vehicle, which had crashed into a vehicle parked on the shoulder. The driver identified as a 28-year-old Detroit resident had slurred speech and was very confused. The driver failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Due to injuries the driver was taken to the hospital where a blood draw was conducted with results pending.
West Big Beaver and Livernois, July 27, 3:11 a.m.: Troy Officers stopped a vehicle for not stopping at a red light. The driver identified as a 23-year-old Rochester Hills resident was observed with bloodshot glassy eyes. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .20 percent.

Dequindre and 14 Mile Road, July 28, 10:36 a.m.: Troy Officers responded to an accident scene. Witness stated he observed the responsible vehicle for the accident weaving all over the road and then slam into the rear of a car stopped at the intersection. The driver, a 48-year-old Troy resident, admitted to taking prescription narcotics one hour before driving and failed field sobrieties. The driver was arrested for operating while under the influence of drugs. A blood test was conducted with results pending.
Rochester and East Big Beaver Road, July 27, 2:33 a.m.: Troy Officers stopped a vehicle after observing weaving in its lane. The driver, identified as a 42-year-old Columbus, Ohio resident, was observed with bloodshot glassy eyes and slurred speech. The driver failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .13 percent.

Home invasions
2000 block of Siena, July 25-26, 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Complainant reported the residence under construction had been broken into through the garage. The complainant advised the gas stove and microwave were stolen. The stove is valued at $500 and the microwave $300.
2000 block of Taylor, July 21-25, 11:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Complainant advised the furnace was stolen from the residence which is foreclosed. The value of the furnace is $2,500.
Larcenies
JCPenney, 700 West 14 Mile Road, July 26, 6:15 p.m.: Complainant advised she had an "across the body" style purse when she felt a tug on her purse. The complainant advised she realized her iPhone 4 was missing from her purse.
Larcenies from autos
300 East Big Beaver Road, July 26, 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Complainant reports the catalytic converter was stolen off of her 2002 Chevrolet Venture. Damage is valued at $500.
Balkan Center, 1451 East Big Beaver Road, July 27, 5 to 9:56 p.m.: Complainant advised he parked his 2005 Lexus in the lot. When he returned he discovered the driver’s side rear window smashed out. Complainant advised there were three purses in the vehicle containing jewelry, ID, and iPhones.
Malicious destruction of property
5000 block of Marina Court, July 28, 9 to 10:30 p.m.: Complainant advised someone shot the front of her home with paintballs. The paintballs stained the brick and wood siding. The complainant estimated the damages to cost $500.
Minors and alcohol
3000 block of Mark, July 27, 11:59 p.m.: Troy Officers responded to a complaint of a loud party with possible underage drinking. Upon arrival, Officers observed several teens running from the home and a number of teen still inside the residence. Officers observed beer cans on the lawn and driveway. Officers made several attempts to make contact with someone inside the residence however no one would answer the door. A search warrant was obtained and officers entered the home finding 13 teenagers inside the home. Twelve of the teenagers were found to be under the influence of alcohol and were issued citations. The teens were released to their parents.
Retail fraud
Kohl's, 500 John R, July 26, 3:23 p.m.: Loss prevention advised the suspect a 35-year-old Detroit resident was observed selecting merchandise and enter the fitting room. When the suspect came out of the fitting room he was wearing the merchandise he had selected (hat, t-shirt and shorts). The suspect left the store failing to pay for the merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise valued at $169. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.
Sephora, 2800 West Big Beaver Road, July 27, 7:53 p.m.: Employees advised the suspects, three Detroit residents aged 47, 34 and 25, were observed selecting fragrances and concealing it in their purses. The suspects all exited the store without paying for the merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspects and recovered the merchandise valued at $686. All three suspects were arrested for retail fraud.
Kohl's, 500 John R, July 28, 3:12 p.m.: Loss prevention officers advised the suspect, a 58-year-old Troy resident was observed selecting merchandise and putting the items in her purse. The suspect then left the store without paying for the merchandise. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise value at $79. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.
Hungry Howie's, 3415 Rochester Road, July 28, 3:40 p.m.: Employees advised the suspect, a 27-year-old Troy resident was observed taking two cans of beer, putting them in his pocket and leaving the store. The suspect did not pay for the beer. Officers located the suspect who admitted to the theft. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.
