Reward Offered for Tips in Troy Man's Murder
Jeremy Thompson, 25, was shot to death May 1 in Detroit, according to Crime Stoppers.

A reward has been offered for tips in the May 1 murder of Troy resident Jeremy Thompson.
The 25-year-old was stopped at 4 a.m. at a train crossing at Sherwood and Seven Mile Road on Detroit's northeast side when a suspect approached his car with a gun and attempted to rob him, according to Crime Stoppers.
The suspect fatally shot Thompson when he tried to drive away from the scene, Crime Stoppers reports.
Thompson was driving a friend to a house in the city in his Dodge Durango, Thompson's mom Mary Thomspon of Troy told The Oakland Press.
“He was the friend that all his friends called when they needed a favor,” she told the newspaper.
The suspect is approximately 25-30 years old, 5'10" to 6', with a medium build, dark complexion, dark brown eyes, short faded hair and a thin goatee; he was wearing an earring in his right ear, a white T-shirt and black pants, according to Crime Stoppers.The agency's website says a reward up to $2,500 for tips in the case is offered, but The Oakland Press reported Friday the amount has been increased to $4,000.
