Troy area seniors 50 and older are invited to sell their arts and crafts at the Creative Endeavors Gift Shop at the Troy Community Center.
“The shop has been open for ten years, and sales totaled over $35,000 last year,” said Carla Vaughan, Coordinator of Senior Programs. “We have over 100 vendors, and offer a wide variety of handmade merchandise.” The shop is open approximately 32 hours per week including Saturdays and some evenings.
The City of Troy provides display space, media promotion, tags for merchandise, bags, and pays the 6% Michigan sales tax. For this service, the City retains a 30% commission on all items sold.
Vendors may bring a sample of their work to the Troy Community Center and will then be contacted by the store committee. For more information, please call Carla Vaughan at Troy Recreation, 248.524.3492 or vaughancs@troymi.gov.
The Community Center is located at 3179 Livernois, Troy, MI 48083.
