Son Calls Police After Dad Drives Away Drunk In Oakland County: Police
Police said the man had a BAC (blood alcohol concentration) more than three times the limit to drive under Michigan law.β
TROY, MI β A 58-year-old Troy man was busted for drunk driving earlier this month after his son called police, according to police.
The incident happened at 3:57 p.m. on May 9 when a caller told police that his dad had left their Troy home drunk, according to police.
Officers found the father's vehicle moving south on Crooke Road near Maplelawn and stopped him for a traffic violation, according to police.

While speaking with the man, officers noted that his speech was slurred, his eyes were glassy, watery and bloodshot, and there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from the car, according to police.
The man then failed multiple sobriety tests and breathalyzer results showed he had a .28 percent BAC (blood alcohol concentration), which is more than three times the limit to drive under Michigan law.

The man was arrested and placed in the Troy Jail. He was charged with operating while intoxicated (OWI). Police did not release his name.
