There’s Still Time To Catch Fall Festivals Near Troy

Bonfires, ghosts walks and beer festivals are all happening in the Metro Detroit area.

TROY, MI — Fall is a great time to get outside in Troy and take in the rich offering of festivals.

The changing colors of autumn provide a scenic background for fall and harvest festivals, which have contests ranging from apple bobbing and pumpkin carving to lumberjack contests and Halloween parades.

Fall is also the season for corn mazes, pumpkin patches and apple orchard visits.

Here are a few festivals and events in the Metro Detroit area worth putting on the calendar:

  • Bowers School Farm Fall Festival, Oct. 15-16 at Bowers School Farm, 1219 E Square Lake Rd, Bloomfield Hills. Enjoy pumpkin picking, wagon rides, animal visits, live music performances, food, straw tower, crafts, games and more.
  • Bonfire and Chill on Oct. 21 at Three Cedars Farm 7897 Six Mile Road. The event will include a corn maze, hay ride, pumpkin patches and private bonfire.
  • Michigan Brewers Guild’s Detroit Fall Beer Festival at Eastern Market in Detroit on Oct. 22. The event features more than 700 varieties of delicious craft beer along with live music and food and is considered one of the largest all-Michigan beer tastings events in Metro Detroit.
  • Motor City Grounds Crew's 2nd Fall Festival at MorningSide Community Campus on Oct. 22 at 4143 Barham St. The festival will include: cider and donuts, bonfire and s'mores, music and pumpkin painting.
  • Clarkston Fall Fest - Free Community Concerts and Event on Oct. 22 at Washington Management 20 West Washington Street in Clarkston. The event will feature live music from One Ton Trolley, food, drinks, kids activities and an incredible fall atmosphere.
  • Plymouth Ghosts Cemetery Walk on Oct. 22 at the Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth. The event is designed to be educational, not scary, and the staff of the Museum takes every precaution to be respectful of the final resting places of Plymouth residents.
  • Heroes Unmasked Fall Festival, Oct. 29 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 814 N. Campbell Road in Royal Oak. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate and Collect prizes, decorate a superhero mask and cookies.
