Tony Spagnola Memorial Golf Classic Planned to Benefit Troy Students
The Troy Foundation for Educational Excellence will donate proceeds from the golf outing to the Troy School District.

The following information was submitted by the City of Troy.
The Troy Foundation for Educational Excellence is breaking with tradition and changing the name of the annual golf outing. The new name is the Tony Spagnola Memorial Golf Classic after the education advocate and champion who died unexpectedly last summer.Β
Tony Spagnola served on the School Board for many years. As a member of the Troy Foundation, he sought ways to support fundraising and increase the number of grants available to educators. When the idea of the golf outing was first proposed, Spagnola saw a way to combine two of his favorite causes: supporting the Troy Foundation fundraising effort and improving his golf score.Β
