Troy Dad Charged With Endangering Daughter

Troy Police arrested a 36-year-old man, whom reports said they found passed at the wheel of his van with his daughter inside.

TROY, MI — A 36-year-old Troy man was arrested for child endangerment after police discovered him passed out at the wheel of his Ford Transit van with his four-year-old daughter in the vehicle, according to police reports. Witnesses saw the man passed out and called police.

Officers arrived at about 12:20 p.m. in the 6600 block of Rochester Road and were able to put van in park and awaken the driver. Troy Police reports said the man was unsteady on his feet and slurred his words.

He told the officers that he had just picked up his daughter from daycare. The Troy man submitted to several sobriety tests, which he performed poorly, reports said.

He also took a preliminary breath test with a result of zero percent. Officers then arrested the Troy man and charged him with Child Endangerment and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Narcotics pending laboratory results.
