Troy Firefighters Rescue Man in Rollover Accident

Firefighters in Troy used the jaws of life to rescue a man trapped in his Jeep after a rollover accident, officials said. 

The accident closed eastbound Long Lake Road at Crooks for about 30 minutes around 3 p.m. on Tuesday as firefighters removed the man and took him to Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, in stable condition.

Fire officials said the man, driving a Jeep Cherokee, roller over on its roof after colliding with another vehicle. Firefighters rescued the man by using the jaws of life, wood cribbing, stabilizing jacks, and hydraulic cutters.

This incident is nearly identical to a rollover traffic collision that these same TFD units handled two weeks ago on Long Lake west of Crooks, at Investment Drive.
