Troy High Auto Lab Gets Upgrade

The lab is now equipped to send graduates directly into the workforce, according to district officials.

TROY, MI — A $200,000 upgrade to Troy High School’s Auto Technology Lab is equipping students with skills needed to get jobs right after graduation, according to a C & G Newspapers’ report. The new lab was recently unveiled and hailed as a boon for the district.

“This is space that will change lives,” said Troy School District Superintendent Richard Machesky. “It’s not a new program. We are reaffirming technical education … and connecting learning to (the students’) world.”
Oakland County Commissioner Doug Tietz, R-Troy, said he met with representatives from Caterpillar Inc. recently who told him that they need mechanics, and those mechanics can expect to earn up to $60,000 annually.
