U.S. News: Troy High School is 6th Best in State

Troy High joins Grosse Pointe High School and International Academy as one of the top high schools in the state.

A list recently released by U.S. News ranks Troy High School as the sixth best high school in Michigan. The ranking is based on a variety of factors, including college readiness, student-to-teacher ratios and average proficiency in math and reading.

Other top Michigan high schools include Frankenmuth, Okemos and Grosse Pointe high schools along with Black River Public School. International Academy in Bloomfield Hills earned the distinction of being named the best high school in the state this year – and the fifth best in the nation.

"It is an honor to be identified as a top high school," Troy High School Principal said. "Our teachers, parents and students work extremely hard, so it is nice to have their efforts recognized on a national stage."

Dziatczak said that, though it is nice to be recognized as a top school, he and his staff will continue to push their students to be the best they can be.

"While this distinction is rewarding," he said, "it will motivate us to seek better ways to engage students to perform at their highest academic potential."
