"Earlier today, we were notified about some concerning statements made on social media by a 15 year old student at Troy High School. We immediately informed the Troy Police, who are investigating the situation at this time. The statements alluded to an interest in shootings and could be interpreted as an implied threat, though it is important to note that no direct threats were made.

Troy High administrators worked with police to quickly to gather information and ensure that student safety was the top priority. Investigators say they do not believe the student involved has the means to carry out any actions. I want to stress that police do not believe that any students at school were in any danger at any time today, but that they—and we—are taking these statements seriously.
