Troy Police Make Arrests in Drunken Driving, Drug Possession Incidents

The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

  • Raintree and Kings Point, Oct. 9, 2:51 a.m.: Officers were dispatched on a suspicious person. Officers stopped a vehicle driving slowly through the subdivision. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to recently smoking and he had more marijuana on his person. The driver, a 17-year-old from Troy was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.
  • Interstate-75 and Livernois, Oct. 9, 11:51 p.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver handed the officer his information and while he opened the glove-box officers observed a marijuana pipe inside the glove-box. The driver, a 28-year-old from Belleville was issued a citation for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
  • Interstate-75 and Rochester Road, Oct. 10, 1:35 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officers could detect an odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. The driver admitted he had a marijuana pipe located in the door of the vehicle. The driver, a 22-year-old from Warren was issued a citation for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
  • Coolidge Highway and Wattles, Oct. 10, 5:09 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle with expired plates. Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers obtained consent to search the vehicle and discovered marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, a 25-year-old from Flint was cited for possession of marijuana. 

Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs

  • Interstate-75 and West Big Beaver Road, Oct. 8, 10:41 p.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing it weaving out of its lane. The driver had blood-shot watery eyes and a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his person. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .10 percent.
  • Coolidge Highway and Industrial Row, Oct. 9, 12:53 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after making an improper turn. The driver had glassy eyes and a strong aroma of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 30-year-old from Farmington Hills was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .21 percent. 
  • East Fourteen Mile Road and Rochester Road, Oct. 10, 12:13 p.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver had a suspended license and two prior convictions for drunk driving. The driver, a 53-year-old from Shelby Township was arrested for operating while intoxicated (third offense) and driving while license suspended. A blood draw was conducted with results pending. 
  • West Fourteen Mile Road and Interstate-75, Oct. 10, 2:31 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle for a “no turn on red” violation. The driver had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his person. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 28-year-old from Southfield was arrested for operating while intoxicated and expired license. Breath test results were .08 percent.
  • Dequindre and Long Lake Road, Oct. 11, 12:53 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing it weave out of its lane. The driver had a strong aroma of intoxicants coming from his person and admitted to drinking. The driver, a 24-year-old for St Louis, Missouri failed field sobrieties and was arrested operating while intoxicated. A blood draw was conducted with results pending.
