Troy Public Library Celebrates Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary

Coping With Grief During The Holidays

• When: Thursday, Nov. 21, 7 p.m.
• Where: A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors (2600 Crooks Rd., Troy)
• What: Holidays are a special challenge for people who have lost a loved one. Grief intensifies during the holiday season. Senior Brigade

• When: Saturday, Nov. 23, 12 noon
• Where: Troy Public Library (510 W. Big Beaver Rd.) 
• What: Troy area Oakland County Commissioners Mike Bosnic and Gary McGillivray will host the Michigan Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division’s Senior Brigade for a one hour presentation on Home Repair and Equity Scams as well as Reverse Mortgages. The program is free of charge to the public. The Senior Brigade is a Michigan seniors initiative designed to educate seniors and their families on the scams and frauds that often are directed at seniors. Home Repair and Equity Scams reviews how to recognize potential repair scams, how to work with a contractor, how to understand reverse mortgages, and tips to recognize and avoid foreclosure scams.

• What: Calling all Whovians! Celebrate the past 50 years of the entire Whoniverse. Join us in the meeting room to watch the BBC simulcast of the Dr. Who 50th Anniversary special with other members of the fandom.
