Truck Collides With Ambulance Responding To An Emergency
All three people involved in the crash left the scene in ambulances.
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — An ambulance en route to an emergency collided with a truck in an intersection. The driver of the truck as well as the driver and passenger of the ambulance all left the scene in ambulances, according to a news release.
Oakland County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of E Highland Rd. (M-59) and Milford Rd. at roughly 10:32 p.m. on Nov. 20. Deputies say the Star EMS unit was heading to an emergency with lights and siren activated when it proceeded slowly through a red light for north bound Milford Rd. and into the path of a west bound vehicle, a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, which had a green light.
The driver of the Star EMS Unit, a 41-year-old man of Highland Township, and passenger, a 55-year-old Springfield Township man, were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital and are in stable condition. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, a 22-year-old Fenton woman, was transported to McLaren Hospital and is in serious condition. Deputies say it appears both occupants of the ambulance were wearing seat belts while it appears that the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was not wearing her seat belt.
